I just got a really bad scare and remember when I always have my Sig with me when I walk the back yard. I didnt today and Im sorry for that. Mom and I were talking while the dogs were playing in the very back of the yard around a pretty dense thicket of blackberry bushes we have. I didnt notice until roscoe jumped back scared that there was a copperhead at the edge of the bushes, and not a small one. By the time I had made the run back to the house and grabbed my gun he had escaped into the thicket and I thought I caught a glimpse of him and fired off a round but I dont know if I hit him or not and Im not going to dig through the bushes and find out the bad way that I didnt. Had I been carrying like i normally do I could have ended the snake and not had to worry about him being back there anymore.. Now Im tempted to go out back with a can of gas and a match and burn the bushes all down but there is no water back there to control the fire. Anybody know a good way to kill/trap snakes that are nesting in bushes like that?
