I just got an email for the Holiday Tree and Menorah Lighting on JB MDL. I was brought up with many different Christian influences, and some Jewish. WHY THE HELL IS IT OK FOR THEM TO SAY MENORAH BUT NOT CHRISTMAS TREE? Seriously, Im not one of the people you see on Fox that think theres a War on Christmas, but why use the word menorah, which has roots in Hebrew, and not use the word Christmas, which literally means the mass of Christ? Thats what were celebrating, folks, not some obscure, undefined holiday. Ive been to Southwest Asia twice. While there, I did not say Happy Holidays during Eid al Fitr or during Ramadan; the correct greetings are Eid Mubarak (blessed Eid) or Ramadan Kareem (literally Generous Ramadan). How long is it before it is politically incorrect to use the word Holiday at all? It is, after all, a shortened form of Holy Day. Will it be everyone thats banned from using it, or just Christians?
