I just got done reading Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and I am - TopicsExpress

I just got done reading Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and I am laughing so hard. I do not regret reading it and I will read the rest in the series. Its definitely got me sucked in to the story. But, oh my, I feel like I just got done reading fanfiction. I think its safe to say that Cassandra Clare borrowed from so many other books. Jace was obviously Draco Malfoy. Though I am not all too familiar with Twilight in its entirety, Im going to go out on a limb and say that Clary has some Bella in her. Valentine= Lord Voldermort mixed with Darth Vadar (Jace, I am your father). Luke was basically Sirius Black. Simon was probably a Ron/Harry hybrid. Hodge is definitely a Lupin/Pettigrew combination. The Mortal Instruments? Theyre definitely modeled after the Deathly Hallows. Throw in another Star Wars inspired two young people love each other, kiss, and then discover theyre brother and sister. The Circle reminds me of the Order of the Phoenix or Death Eaters. Mundies? More like Muggles renamed. In spite of all that, and also in spite of the horrible similes and how everything seemed to be glittery in the book, I liked it. LOL. I think thats why I cant stop laughing. I cant believe it. As horribly written as it is, as painfully obvious that the characters are based off other fictional characters, I couldnt stop reading it. And Im going to read the others.
