I just got my mail in ballot. I am surprisingly voting NO on amendment 66. After researching it and the way it will be implemented, its not fair how the funds will be distributed. Some districts are getting 1200$ increases to per pupil budgets and others $600. The corporate tax rate was NOT increased, but my tax rates as a small business owner will rise...lots. Lame. The majority of increases to in classroom funding will be for ESL students and preschool, NOT music, arts, or physical education. Charter schools such as my boys school will not be receiving equal funding either. I just feel as if the way they are taxing to bring in revenue is jacked, and they have been misleading in their presentation of the amendment. Also: unless you make less than $75K its not ONLY $133/ year. Of you have a two income household, you will most likely be paying closer to $1020 extra on your income tax.
