I just got the most AMAZING news! You all know that the organization NAMI got involved with my discrimination case against Lutheran Services since I was told I couldnt be a foster mother by my case worker because I have a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder. She told me, without looking over my case file or knowing anything about me, that my home was dangerous and that I would hurt the children put in my care and she couldnt allow that to happen. Well, the people at NAMI went to Lutheran Services and talked to my case workers supervisor. I dont know what they said to her but I just received a phone call from my case worker and she was kissing my ass so hard that my tonsils hurt lol I now know there is a review board that I can go in front of and get reassessed to become a foster mother. Im going to get a new psychological assessment from a different psychologist, put down updated references, go through criminal background checks again and get a statement of health from my primary care doctor. Then, Dave and I go before the board and give our reasons why we should be foster parents. I hope it goes well and that we get licensed to become foster parents this time. Im so giddy with excitement!
