I just had a visitor at Red Clay tell me the story of her - TopicsExpress

I just had a visitor at Red Clay tell me the story of her great-grandmother who walked on the Trail of Tears. As she related her story, there were tears in her eyes and I can understand why. After killing her great-great grandfather for refusing to leave, the soldiers removed her and then set fire to their home. Her grandmother then walked the 900 miles to Indian territory where the family lives to this day. This is the first time she has been to her ancestral home. What a story she told. Today is proof that the tears did not stop after the Trail. The Trail was and is a blight in American history and a reminder to learn our own history so that we may avoid repeating it. -Ranger J
