I just had my grade posted for the paper I submitted and the feedback is filled with mixed signals. On one hand she marked off because I did not produce any supporting evidence in my opening paragraph ( lost 26 points, with 8 comments referring to my lack of evidence) then as the paper continued she marked off points for me using quotes and statistics and said I wrote a research paper, not a persuasive paper... I got a 30% on this paper and I have no clue how to fix it or what this woman wants,, all I know is unless she can explain how she can mark off points in my opening statement for not providing facts and supporting evidence, then later marked off numerous points for presenting supporting evidence and facts then I will once again be seeking the assistance of my academic advisor.. I think my topic is extremely controversial and I think I may have struck a nerve... I wonder if I had chosen one of her suggested topics, like childhood obesity or diabetes I would have received a better grade..
