I just had the most spectacular 3 days- a road trip thru the beautiful jungle on horrendous roads where sections had fallen down the red cliffs that lined one side of the road,landslides in sections too- 11km ending the journey in wild rain & puddles deep as(using awesome Moto skills in the squishy red mud lol) to arrive at a magic village of bamboo huts lining the mountainside and river edge.Ive never seen anything quite like it!The village head man greeted us and knew of our arrival from friends who had worked there before with refugees. The locals were fascinated by our presence and all wanted to stare & chat.We wanted just the same :) The river we gazed across from our little room was the Burma/Thai border.Surreal. We then ventured the streets,met locals and my highlight was meeting a female baby Macaque(monkey)!- she was nothing short of perfect and amazing. I visited her each day in awe but felt sorry for the life that lay ahead for her. On the 2nd day I was with her when a rain storm approached & she jumped on me,snuggled in and fell asleep!!!!Pure bliss. On the 3rd day we took her some heavy duty toys(rattle,spinner n squeaky thing),mirror,sunflower seeds,mangos and a teddy to create her a little playground in the small space she lived. I was in love! We ended the trip with fishing,painting and reading by the Salawin River & a smooth Moto ride home x Wow-this is what life is for-new adventure new experiences and living!! xxxxxxx
