I just had this. It lasted two weeks and is still lingering. I think Jax had it first and I got it about two days before I left for Canada. It started as a non-painfull irritation in my throat like early stage laryngitis. It never actually became painfull like a sore throat. The throat irritation really worked at night and when I awoke for about six days my voice was wasted until Id brushed and harged it back to life. Nevertheless, I had Johnny Cash voice for at least a week and still cant hit the high notes. During the middle ten days, and lessening as it went, I would get multiple irritation crescendos during the day that would kick my eye and sinus on one side or the other into ultra-high gear for about three minutes. During these instances I would visibly tear five or six times and my nostril on that side would be flooded. Then, just as quickly, it would subside and return to the nagging, low grade, scratchiness that it maintained for a full 12 days at least. Beginning at the half way (one week) point and intensifying into the two-thirds point it moved out of my throat and into my left lung. So, for the last five days I have been Fleghm Bob Hargoramma. Only today has the coughing really begun to subside. I have no more breathe-in rattle but I still have a deep breathe-out rattle that makes me cough when I push it. Lung butter was never really dark yellow or green, just lightly yellowish. No fever, no ongoing throat pain. As flu strains go (for me anyway) it was mild but this one will kick the smokers asses!
