I just heard a story about a friend/ Bay Ridge neighbor who was savagely beaten by the NYPD who came to his apartment, (not for any crime but because of a personal grudge one of the officers had) beat him severely, so badly that he had go to the hospital and be under observation for 12 hours. There is video of the attack, and there are photos of his injuries. He has a lawyer, so-- Im not seeking help for him, just saying how common this is. Most likely there will be a settlement, and the police will go on without any punishment, when they should be locked up for felony assault. They will be free to beat someone else if they feel like it, or worse.
