I just heard on the news that a doctor has prescribed a woman pills so she can end her life. She has brain cancer, and wants to supposedly end her life with dignity. There are things that can be done to preserve ones dignity. I dont often speak out on controversial things, but this is wrong for so many reasons. Only God should determine when a life should be over. Whats wrong with the doctor, where are his morals, where is the law that allows her and the doctor to be allowed to do this. And from someone who lost her husband to brain cancer, I couldnt imagine him choosing to do something like that. He was not in pain. Yes his family and I were devastated with the diagnoses he was given, as was he, but I can not imagine him choosing to take your life earlier than when it should be. He chose to try to make the best of the time he had. He fought when he could. We knew that he could have and should have had a vital life, had he not had cancer and Im sure we all still grieve at the loss of what could have been. The woman in the interview seemed still very strong and healthy, not at end of life. How is this not suicide? Yes I have also experienced people wishing to take their lives by suicide and Thankfully, they were not successful. That too, was heart wrenching to try to convince them that suicide was not the way out. Pray that this woman decides not to end things prematurely, immorally, that her family can be spared that, and that her church, law etc will stop this. Her day of death is suppose to be November 1st.
