I just learned something of extreme importance. One of the most important questions in life and one that I have pondered and wondered about since I was a kid. It seems that the average airspeed velocity of an unladen European Swallow is about 11 meters per second or 24 miles an hour. There is currently not enough data gathered about the South African Swallow (the only migratory African variety that might realistically cooperate with another Swallow to carry anything) to accurately calculate an airspeed.
