I just lit a candle in remembrance of my father. Its 18 years since he died. Still theres not a day goes past when I dont think about him. He loved his cine camera and over the years built up a huge collection of film footage. We have footage dating back to the late 1920s right up to the end of the 1980s. All the early films have been digitised and are now stored safely in a film archive. He made surfing history in the UK - a book on British surfing history had to be re-written to include his story, was included in a TV documentary and his story eventually hit the national papers three years ago. He would have been quite bemused by all the fuss his films created! Several years ago my son and I chose the most interesting footage from his collection and made our own little documentary which we uploaded to Youtube.
