I just realized something ... every time I respond to some - TopicsExpress

I just realized something ... every time I respond to some ridiculous and intentionally inflammatory partisan remark or propagandist parroting by my FB friends (more from my lefty friends than my righty friends by far, but its definitely both ends), I am actually signalling the Facebook algorithms that dictate what we see in our feeds that I LIKE that stuff. Which means I get even more of it. I wish I could set a filter to ignore political posts without ignoring the rest of the stuff they post. Theres just something about politics that makes people throw off reason and earnestness sometimes. And seeing the inflammatory and completely fallacious things on my feed is brutal. Its like finding the discipline to ignore a troll. When someone posts a flagrant untruth, its so hard to just let it pass, even if it is just Facebook. To ignore it is to participate in the unraveling of honest discourse and abandonment of the pursuit of truth between well-meaning citizens.
