I just sat down to catch up on the day. I went and spent some time with my dad, who served in 3 wars and is currently experiencing full blown Alzheimers. It is hard to watch the man who you thought was invincible succumb to such a horrible disease. I sit and ponder the lives lost, friends gained, and time spent over the last 20 years of my military career. It amazes me the resolve that almost everyone I have served with has. There have been exceptions, as not everyone is cut out for this. It has been a long 13 years. We have been burying friends for way too long at this point. The reality is, that not everyone who died believed in what they were doing, but they did it anyway. I love all of you guys. Take a moment and understand the true weight that we all bear.
