I just saw Cadillac Records for the first time. Completely annoyed they chose Beyonce to play Etta James. If you know me you know I love music. Etta is a legend and should have been portrayed as she was. B can sing, but its whiny like most pop singers. Etta had a gritty voice and was Jazzy/Bluesy. B is a diva, Etta was earthy and real. B ruined every song she sang in that movie. It was more than she could handle.
