I just saw a review of Son Of The Mask by Doug Walker (AKA The Nostalga Critic) and it got me thinking about the unmade offical sequal to the original. I had an idea at that moment what the sequal would have been like. due to my obsession of The Mask franchise lately. Since The Mask took events from Ipkiss story from the Arcudi/ Mahnke comic series and made it more lighter compared to the grim and gritty look of the comic, I wonder what The Mask II continue the first half of the series and took bits from the comic and made them more lighter and enjoyable for people of all ages. I imagine That Lt. Kellaway, still played by played by Peter Riegert, actually finds the Mask after it washes up during a crime scene at the Edge City Docks, wears it and becomes a crime stopping dynamo (aka a vigilante or a superhero). I would imagine Stanley Ipkiss, whos still played by Jim Carrey, and Tina Carlyle, played by Cameron Dias, would have to stop Lt. Kellaway from despicing his own brand of cartoon-styled justice in the form of some Tex Avery-like but mildly dark murder and injury due to his cruel pranks on the cruel underworld of Edge City and the Mask slowly taking over his mind to a point of obsession over it and insanity like it almost did for Ipkiss. Meanwhile, while Kellaway is dealing with the criminals of the city, the mafia plans to try to have Kellaway/The Mask killed and they send in their most powerful and biggest hitman, WALTER (a gigantic Frankensteins Monster-looking mute, muscular, brutal, twisted, soulless, suit-wearing hulking man, who would serve as a villain in the film like in the comic and Animated Series), to finish the job. I would have to imagine Tina putting on the Mask and becoming a gender-swapped Mask like Kathy in the first Mask series and again in The Mask Returns. I wonder if they would use Walter in it or who would they get for him. What do you guys think?
