I just shared this on a friends wall. They were having a massive debate about money. I feel a little bit vulnerable sharing this with everyone but here goes. Heres why Im going to be financially wealthy in this lifetime: the more wealth I have, the more I can help the world. Steve Irwin, bless him, was so clear on this. He said I want to make as much money as possible. The more money I have, the more animals I can help. Its so simple. More money, more options. More power. Money can certainly be used for evil. Or it can be used to be a massive force for good in the world. Of course there are other forms of wealth too. There is no reason why making more money necessarily equals hurting others or the planet. if you make money in a way that benefits the world, then use the money to further benefit the world, while at the same time creating a rad life for yourself and your family and friends, how cool is that? The most awesome thing in the world I reckon. Thats my path. I respect others who walk different ones, but I think this is the biggest way I can actually change the world for the better. Heres some awesome things you can do with money that cant be done without it. 1. Buy a massive block of land (or several) and revegetate it and create a wildlife sanctuary. (Bush Heritage do awesome reveg work.) 2. Pay for scholarships for disadvantaged kids. 3. Make a donation to the Greens Party. 4. Start your own foundation on whatever cause you are passionate about. 5. Just give it to whichever existing non-profit you think is best. There are millions of people in the world working incredibly hard for NGOs, usually for a lot less pay than corporate jobs, and on incredibly important issues that effect everyone. THE MORE MONEY YOU MAKE THE MORE YOU CAN GIVE THEM. 7. Travel around the world. Experience other cultures. Expand your spirit. I know its possible to do this without money (or at least with not much money) but why not do it in style? 8. Buy your dream home and live wherever you want. 9. Show an awesome example to your kids, your family, and everyone you know that you can do whatever you want in life and do it in a way that is Win-Win for everyone. 10. anyone got any more?
