I just spent 45 minutes holding a wet, wriggly newborn puppy whose umbilical cord had been chewed off too close to the belly....my oldest daughter Emilei Renai helped deliver him but the momma chewed and chomped so fast that she chomped it off too far down. Since the cord has both venous and arterial blood, it squirted out pretty far at first. Momma kept licking but it kept coming, and I could see right away this puppy was in imminent danger of bleeding out. She helped me get her away from momma and I pinched and pinched on that little stub of a cord for a few minutes but it would not stop. I had her get some tiny rubber bands but those were even too big to fashion a clamp, and for some reason I dont have any clamps in my wilderness first aid kit. So I pressed hard into his little tummy until I could get a good grab on the cord and pinched hard, holding him still and pinching that cord stump for about 15 minutes....it finally stopped, but I could tell it was tenuous at nest. He is now 3 hours old and has a patch of gauze taped tightly to his stub to keep it form getting rubbed or licked back open, and is nursing just fine. I think hell make it. I said all that to say this - blood is life. Without the blood pumping around in us, we would die. Without the saving blood of Jesus, we would die spiritually and eternally. I know you have your blood - are you covered in THE Blood, the Blood of the lamb? You dont want to bleed out when you stand before God.....
