I just talked with Lane Wright on the phone about what is happening with the new rules in the Paintball Sports Promotions (PSP) and have gained yet more respect for him and the job that he has with the league. He gave me reasons and insight into why most of these new rules/changes have come about and I can say for the most part that I agree with him, and I believe that the majority of these changes are for the better. Believe me when I, Nick Slowiak, say that his intentions are to make the game better, now, and in the future. He reads our posts and he listens to our thoughts & comments on pod/web/live broadcasts throughout most social media outlets. He knows what people are saying. He sees the good ideas and the bad. He has stated that if these new rules do not work out, as their creators have intended, they will be fixed. The new rules are here, and I wish the way they were released to us was spelled out a little more clearly. Hell, I wish they were delivered to us a whole different way! But, they have been released, and now some things have changed. People fear change. I fear change. We have to decide to stop fearing change and learn that progress is impossible without it. With the talk I just had with Lane, I know that a big thing that I have to change is my attitude. I cannot control new rules, but I can control my attitude and how I will handle change.
