I just want the President to address the elephant in the room - maybe not so much an elephant - RACISM. I want to hear him acknowledge publicly that people of color are moving targets. But, hes President of the US who happens to be a Black man. He has to walk a fine line...right? And I should not have those expectations of him...right? And so, I am reminded of what Son of Baldwin articulated, as it reflects what I have been struggling with for some time: To be fair, its not President Obamas fault that I keep expecting him to be Assata Shakur. Thats MY bad. Its my expectations that are unrealistic. Hes just being what ANY American president has been, is, and ever will be: A tool of the State and a slave to the interests of the 1%. Thank you, Son of Baldwin, for helping me clarify what Ive been struggling with for years.
