I just want to share with you my experience in Argos in Swindon - TopicsExpress

I just want to share with you my experience in Argos in Swindon Town centre on Friday... I brought some items just before closing, the transaction was complete at 5:30 and they was ready for collection a few minutes later. They were big items (a huge rug and a box of plates, bowls etc.) When I asked the staff politely if theyd please help me carry the very heavy and awkward items to the taxi, they refused because it was a couple of minutes past closing. I am 8 months pregnant with health issues and I already had other bags in my hand. I stressed to the young man behind the counter that I didnt think I could possibly carry it all that way especially given the fact I have a huge baby bump in the way. One of the staff then proceeded to lock the side doors, now meaning I couldnt walk through them to my taxi, I now had to walk even further. I told them Id have to leave the items and get a refund but they wouldnt because it was past closing. A young girl that worked there was upset about this all and tried to have her say about how she felt it was wrong and she was shut down by the rude member of staff enjoying his power trip! So anyway, I ended up waddling awkwardly the long way to the taxi pick up with a heavy hard to carry box, shopping bags, a huge baby bump and a massive rolled up heavy rug! They didnt even help me to the door! I understand they must have shop rules but I ordered my items before closing, and it was only a few minutes past closing plus I was clearly pregnant and struggling and nobody would do the decent thing and help me, they only made the situation harder for me. Not an ounce of human decency or compassion between them (apart from the young girl). It was embarrassing and shameful struggling past several members of staff on my way out of the shop and it left me feeling very sad and disheartened
