I just wanted to give everyone an update on my boy, Darwin, the one who broke his scur off. We had kept him inside the past couple days in a dog kennel, with lots of blankets and changed his bedding every few hours. I also made sure to give him a shot of penicillin and some vitamin B in addition to his tetanus shot. He wasnt drinking a lot due to the bandage [it almost covered his eyes and made him headshy], so we gave him lots of apples, cantaloupe and cucumbers in addition to some oats and lots of hay. This morning he was doing much, much better, up and yelling at us to bring him breakfast. He was able to go back outside today, though I know we probably babied him more than most people. We took his bandages off today and sprayed him with some antiseptic/painkilling spray, gave him some ibuprofen and benadryl for the swelling and let him go back out with the girls while it was sunny and nice. He is still a mess and is sore, but well try to give him a bath to clean him up in a few days, so he looks less like a zombie-goat. In any case, this was a good learning experience for us, and were now looking into having his scurs re-burned to prevent them from coming back ever again. It is not something we want to repeat in the future! Thank you everyone who gave me advice when I was freaking out, I appreciate that so very much!
