I just wanted to pay my respects for the Horror Author James Herbert who I just discovered died a couple of years back at the age of 69. Not only has his work been a great influence on my own but Im also a massive fan of his great stories like The Jonah, Creed, The Magic Cottage and The Survivor. Herbert may not have been the most fancy of writers, but what he did do was write very good fast paced stories with chilling set pieces a good mix of various elements and genres. In my own work Ive tried to keep Herberts pace and no nonsense approach but add the depth and description of Stephen Kings novels. SO there you go R.I.P James Herbert and thanks for the stories!
