I just watched THE HUNGER GAMES; CATCHING FIRE, because I love Jennifer Lawrence. Love her. Im not in on this franchise, I havent read the books and have only seen the last half of the first film in the series. Its definitely interesting. Its like Judeo Christian biblical mythology on steroids. A vengeful white-haired dictator/father figure who watches cruelty from above the world he created, during the games, and who generally allows a few to indulge obscenely while most suffer. It shows how human nature can deal with extreme survival of the fittest v innate goodness and justice. Anyway I dont really get it all, but its certainly exciting, and always great to watch Donald Sutherland & Philip Seymour Hoffman. Ps I also dont get the Peter thing! Gael (or whatever his name is?) is so much better. Dont get that.
