I just watched Transformers: Age of Extinction, and I have to say, it was a good film... Before you tell me about the whole Rotten Tomatoes thing, i have afew things to say. TL:DR I give it a 7/10. Protip: Watch The original Transformers animated movie, or just wiki Galvatron, Dinobots, and Quintessons. SPOILERS AHEAD! ... Are you sure? I REMIND YOU, THERE ARE SPOILERS... ... Okay... ....no turning back... Heres why I think its pretty good. - The whole family thing was just very cliche, no matter which way you spin it. Mark Wahlberg was decent for his role. His daughter is just jailbait for guys who need something to look at... Stay classy. - The whole plot where they can create them, could have been way more streamlined. It took alittle too long to set up. Hence the long length of the movie. - Action had a good pace. Humor was a bit corny, if it makes me chuckle then it did its job. - The thing that tipped the scale for me, was the film setting the stage for the rest of this reboot. I think it did it well. If you take the movie as it is in the Bayverse, I thought how Galvatron was brought back was pretty good eventhough predictable, How the Dinobots were pretty unruly before Optimus showed them whats up was decent, and Lockdown being sent to get Optimus Alive was what really made me think it was good. - If you dont know the actual lore of the Transformers or watched the animated movie, youll think the film is all over the place and the plot is way too vague and confusing. If youre a real fan, youll know exactly where they are loosely going with it.
