I just watched a great interview with John McCain. He said: We as a nation dont engage in violation of fundamental human rights; we dont torture people. He said that understandably, many Americans with power reacted to 9/11 in a mode we will do whatever it takes to prevent this from ever happening again. But they crossed the line. We as Americans learn from our mistakes, we owe up to them, and we improve ourselves going forward. He agrees with the transparency of releasing the report, and doesnt agree that the release of the report will incite terrorists. They are already beheading Americans, among other atrocities. Others went on to defend the water boarding of the three mastermind terrorists behind 9/11, and feel that this was an exception, not the norm ... and that this led to credible intelligence that our country needed and used. Interesting stuff. McCain closed that Republicans should know ... unless we show the American people that we can govern, we wont elect a Republican President in 2016. Ive been saying THAT for years.
