I just worked up an NPC today. He is a Human Skald, and I focused on Summoning with him. Oh, my, he is rather brutal! With augment summoning, superior summoning, inspire rage, and greater skalds vigor, he is an army unto himself. Throw in haste and other buff spells, and he seems to be extremely powerful. Tactics are as follows: He will have two henchmen with him, and they have the sole job of keeping the party busy until he is done with his first summoning spell. First round: Move action to start his Raging Song (inspire rage), which gives a +4 morale bonus to Str and Con. Skalds Vigor means all affected by his song gain fast healing 4. They also gain DR 1/-. He also has the rage powers of lesser beast totem and beast totem, so everything affected by the song also gains two claw attacks, and +3 to natural armor. He also has the energy resistance rage power, so all creatures get ER 5 (havent picked which element yet). He will use his standard action to start casting summon monster 2 using a fourth level spell slot. If he needs to, he will use a swift action to activate his quick runners shirt for another move action to move if threatened. Second round: Finish casting summons, and 1D4+2 wolves appear with all of the above additions. Standard action to cast Haste. After that, mostly just try to maintain minions with buffs and healing, summoning more creatures if needed. Might do a couple of 3rd level summons, with another haste for them. Hopefully the party doesnt die vs this guy!!
