I just wrote this in my journal, and Ive never shared anything from my journal because I will usually preach messages and want the stuff to be fresh to the listeners. However, this is so powerful and can possibly change someones life. I will add a few details in my post that I didnt write down because I was the one doing the writing and I understand certain parts without detail. Ok, are you ready? When the Angel of The Lord prophesies Samsons birth, Samsons parents intreated that he stay for dinner. The Lord told them to kill the Goat but offer it in a burnt offering. Right before this, the angel revealed his name to be Secret which is the Same word used for Wonderful in Hebrew. As the burnt offering is on the altar, the bible says that he does a wondrous work by ascending in the flame of the altar. Wow, Samsons dad makes the statement, We will die because we have seen God. His wife responds with these words, If The Lord was pleased to kill us, he would not have received the burnt offering and meat offering from our hands. I see the Cross here. It is clear that Jesus is our new covenant burnt offering and hes done a wonderful work by being an accepted sacrifice. He has resurrected in the flame as a sweet smelling savior and because he has been accepted, God is not pleased to kill us. Let me also recall what Isaiah said. His name shall be called WONDERFUL Counsellor, the mighty God.
