I keep coming back to Jonathan Elias Prayer Cycle. It was written just prior to the 21st century as a celebration of what makes us our best, and an expression of fear and concern for what the years ahead may bring. As an added bonus, it has some phenomenal work by a wide array of vocalists, including some of the last recordings of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. I generally cant stand Alanis Morissette, but she turns in some very good work on her segments, too.
