I keep trying to think of a way to say thank you to everyone - TopicsExpress

I keep trying to think of a way to say thank you to everyone involved in Jennas recovery and the beautiful benefit dinner on Saturday evening. So, here it goes... On that fateful night, I remember folding my hands above my head and thinking about all the ways in which our lives would change without Jenna. Unfortunately, yes, the thought crept into my mind. Oddly, I can recollect glancing over at the molding underneath the mantle in our living room. I imagined hanging Jennas stocking during the Christmas season and having to answer difficult questions from our daughter. In miraculous fashion, the last six months led to this evening. Jenna helped me hang all four stockings, and the four of us were physically sitting in the room! Jenna still has a number of obstacles facing her in the future. We are all physically and mentally exhausted. Our household runs because of more hands than we can count due to the needs that exist. The idea of a normal life seems to dwell far outside the walls of our home. All of that aside, her stocking hangs there! And I get to shift my eyes from that symbol of her to my actual wife. And all of that stress and pressure doesnt matter. During all trials Jenna has faced, we have seen consistent elements throughout. Helping hands. Kind words. Unparalleled generosity. Selflessness. A simple smile. Compassion. Shared tears. From family to friends to community, you all have eased the worry, fear and uncertainty. Meanwhile, my gorgeous and strong wife hangs that stocking. Thank you for helping to remove some of the difficulties in life so that we can enjoy the little things. Love you all!
