I know I am not the only person who struggles with the following. - TopicsExpress

I know I am not the only person who struggles with the following. Technology, even the FB aspect of it, can, like most things, be a blessing or a curse - depending on how it is used. I was thinking on how fast information flows today and how that increased flow creates the perceived need for making decisions or coming to conclusions faster and faster. I was also wondering about the effects of this on my own life and the lives of others. One of the things I have thought about is how this tremendous flow of information, facts, events, etc. interrupts our need as humans to think deeply on various issues and arrive at their fundamental principles: i.e., to be able to practice the Biblical art/lifestyle of meditation. Psalm 1:2 gives a great picture: "But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night." What this meditative lifestyle produces God tells us in the next verse: "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season." My prayer for myself and my fellow believers is that we will not trade a lifestyle of "information flow" for a life of meditation - it is, in our world today, a serious challenge. I find myself reproved by this line of thinking and my mind carried to Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things." Just thought this might be worth sharing for consideration.
