I know I have been posting a lot of different police stories. I wouldnt normally be doing it, except that it bothers me when all the media ever does is cast the spot light on incidents that make my PROFESSION look bad. Thats right, profession, I have a college degree and chose my career to be in law enforcement. Whether people believe it or not, most of what we do is for the benefit of the communities where we swore our lives on to protect. The first 18 years were in Oak Park and the last 9 have been in Northfield Township. Lord knows I dont do it for the money, because if that was the case, I would have gone private security years ago. I love my job, I love my brother/sisterhood, but most gratifying is making others feel safe while I am working. I want to send out a God Bless and Thank You to all those other dedicated soles who chose to put on the badge so they could protect and serve. May God protect you during your shifts.
