I know everyone is sharing our UFC info, but folks are not signing - TopicsExpress

I know everyone is sharing our UFC info, but folks are not signing up for our Tickets for Troops program before asking for tickets, etc. This is causing a big log jam so I am posting this again. Please be sure to tell your military buddies to check our EVENTS page to get the info on how to sign up, etc. Thanks! ~ Julie D We have a lot of new troops and veterans asking about OCCs Tickets for Troops program. Heres how it works: If you have or are currently serving in the military you may sign up for our Tickets for Troops program. We have also added an easier way for Gold Star dependents to sign up. When signing up, be as specific as possible about the type of events you like-- team names, type of sports, etc. Weve changed our registration form which makes it easier to specify your favorite sports teams, etc. https://occ-usa.org/tickets-for-troops/ We do not email out info on tickets available. There is no email list. We receive many tickets very last minute- the day before or on game day, so posting them on Facebook with SPECIFIC instructions on how to request them is the most efficient way for us to get the word out. We understand that some do not use FB- so we encourage them to have someone who does use it FRIEND US, then check in daily. We post new opportunities nearly every week. OCCs Tickets for Troops IS: 1. available to all current military, those who have formerly served in the military, and dependents of fallen troops. 2. always FREE- no service charges, etc. We feel that asking you to pay a service charge for FREE tickets means they are not really free. 3. a way for season ticket holders to support the troops by donating tickets they cant use. OCCs Tickets for Troops IS NOT: 1. a ticket request program. We will not purchase tickets for you because you wish to attend a specific event, or put you ahead of anyone else because you asked first. 2. MWR. We are not affiliated with the military MWR programs although we sometimes distribute tickets through programs such as MWR. MWRs or anyone we ask to distribute tickets for OCC should never charge you for them- let us know if they do! 3. a way to make money. Our tickets are never to be sold, bartered, raffled, etc. These actions could jeopardize our program, and we will take action if we find anyone doing this. 4. to be taken for granted. If you request tickets you need to make sure you attend the event. We understand that people become ill, have last minute duty, etc. but you must try to contact us to let us know so another family may be able to take your place. We always have a waiting list of those who have responded to our announcements. We have heard that some folks have taken tickets and dont attend because they are tired, another opportunity comes up, etc. Not an excuse to waste our tickets and deprive other troops or vets from attending. 5. NOT for those who have not served in the military, with a few exceptions. Military folks should never request tickets to give to their friends, co workers, extended family members or even other members of the military. Military members need to sign up for their own tickets. OCC determines who will receive tickets for an event in the fairest way we can. No one should expect to receive tickets just because they sent an email. We have troops visiting the area, home for R&R, port calls, etc. and we try to make special consideration for them when possible. There is not another place in this country where an organization does this much to send local troops to so many events FREE. Remember, we do not always receive our tickets free- we sometimes pay for them to give them to you free. (Such as our recent Disney on Ice tickets.) Please remember OCC when considering your donation for the CFC, CSECC, etc. during the Fall campaigns. Last, be sure to sign up for the program because simply following us on Facebook will not make you eligible. Heres the link! https://occ-usa.org/tickets-for-troops/
