I know its 2:40 am but have you ever had a dream that was so real, that when you wake up it brings tears to your eyes because you would do ANYTHING to make it come true, but you know that there is just NO WAY it would EVER happen? Thats why Im awake lol. I had a dream that I had the opportunity to buy my Nannies old house that I grew up in. In the dream I was moving in. Words cant even describe the feeing I had. I remember EVERY SINGLE detail of how her house looked and smelled. And in my dream everything was exactly the same. (Its been completely remodeled now). I spent so much of my childhood there. I remember being really little waking up in the morning before mom and dad and walking across the field to Nannies house. Mom would wake up and would automatically know to call Nannie to see if I was there. I remember running up and down the halls playing hide and seek, laying on that big living room floor under that awesome ceiling fan during the summer because she wouldnt turn the ac on, sitting on her front porch swing with her, running through the back door to find her asleep in her recliner. I would sit on the arm of her recliner and listen to her give me little life lessons and tell me when Im gone your gona wish you would have listened to Nannie. Coming in after school during the winter and she would always have something warm for us to eat. We would sit by the wood burning stove and warm up. We would pick peaches off the peach tree & pick black berries off the black berry bush in the garden behind the house. We werent allowed to play in the dinning room much but it was so fun to sneak through that cool pocket door that went to the living room when she wasnt looking. Playing in the front yard and smelling garlic because it was growing in the front flower bed. Poking at the baby Mosquitos (not sure what theyre called) in the buckets of rain water that she collected on the front porch. We would poke them and they would swim to the bottom and then back to the top. I would help her take wet clothes out to hang on the line to dry if the weather was nice. Wondering what all was in that room in her garage but was always too scared to go in there and look because of the mice and critters. Watching her make homemade soap in the back yard. Going up to the dairy with her to get fresh milk and having to scrape the cream off the top before you drank it. Then collecting all the cream to make butter in a churn. The churning part I didnt so much care for but my favorite thing to do was shell peas. Siting on the living room couch for hours shelling peas! That HUGE kitchen that so many thanksgiving and Christmas dinners were cooked in. So many awesome meals were cooked in. During the Holiday season she would be making candies and pies. Her dining room table would be full of deliciousness! Divinity & peanut brittle were my favorites! Her in the kitchen for hours making homemade bread. Anytime she would go to one of her friends house I remember her taking something like bread or a pie or cake. We didnt have ANY of the things kids have now days but I never remember being bored. I loved it so much there I always wanted to live there. Well about 30 minutes ago I did, for just a few minutes and it was pure joy! I would give anything to live there now with my daughters and give them that same experience I was able to have. I would give anything to run through that back door one more time and hug her neck so tight and tell her she was right! But, I guess we can all dream right! Now I will try to go back to sleep! ❤️
