I know its not RANT day but.... I was lucky enough to live in Italy for two years. In Italy, you get your cappuccino and sit and savor it. Its meant to be enjoyed. It is not meant to get stuck into a Styrofoam cup, a lid squeezed on and driven around the block. I was very happy when Starbucks started offering a 10 cent discount if you asked for a real cup. Unfortunately, if you ask for a real cup first they look at you like you are crazy. Then they tell you, We dont have cups. Then I tell them, Yes you do. They they ask a coworker or two or three. Finally someone will say, Yeah we have cups. Then they go to a cabinet, wipe the dust of and rinse out your cup and finally after much debate, you get this lovely cup of cappuccino with foam and if you are lucky a design on top. Because I have been sooo STRESSED out I decided to treat myself to a cappuccino when I was informed, We no longer have cups, if you want one you have to bring it from home. I dont know about you but I normally dont carry cups around in my purse. I said, No Thanks! and left without buying anything. See Rave to follow.
