I know many may disagree, but this is a problem and it needs to be addressed and adjusted. For real. I have had too many former students tell me they want to be police officers. And when I express surprise due to their behavior in high school, they almost always respond that they are interested in the power over other people and the fact they get to carry a weapon. How many who actually become officers enter the profession thinking this, I wonder... Michael Brown was not the best example of police brutality --- he definitely made some choices that were problematic, but the bottom line is he was unarmed. Its time to address and adjust the problem.
