I know many people who say they dont like Facebook but in addition to being a valuable asset in disseminating information, I also find its a great way to browse potential acquaintances. They say a person will typically post the best versions of themselves and their life, so if thats even a little bit true, and I see someone always trolling for attention or blasting their personal business I take it as a priceless warning. If thats the BEST version, oh geesh! And this saves me from getting into any sort of relationship with someone who is only going to bring drama and negativity into my life. Just food for thought :)
