I know people are going to be talking about this for a while, but I just wanted to throw this out there. Im extremely happy that the Seahawks won today, and not only because they won a championship. It showed me, personally, how God is always in control and how being humble is always better than trying to be arrogant. Russell Wilson, the Seahawks quarterback, has been going into every game with the same mentality: go 1-0 every week and trust God no matter what. He always gives praise no matter if they win or lose, and his meekness constant reminds of the person Id like to be. The job that he has causes many people to believe that THEY are the best and that THEY alone can achieve everything. I know this is a bad example, but even in the aspect of football, the arrogant teams never made it far, yet look how far Russell Wilsons team went. Every time he talks to the media, he always mentions how God gave him this opportunity and how he wants to Mae the best of it. He not only talks the talk, he walks the walk. Him and his wife make weekly visits to a childrens hospital to socialize with the patients, while other players spend their free days buying themselves Lamborghinis and getting arrested for DUIs. Once again, I know that this isnt the beat example for this verse, but it shows that following God and being humble will make you successful, even in earthly things such as football. It is very true was is said in Matthew 5:5, Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
