I know that I said I was going to try to stay out of trouble this week but I feel compelled to speak this truth. Our nation is in trouble and more than we need rocks in the sinks of the bathrooms of our churches to be classy & spa like (can anyone say Rome), we need Jesus & the Holy Spirit in our sanctuaries for us to be broken & repentant. To be broken for the lost. To be broken over the hopelessness some feel who are living in poverty. To be broken for those very ones who would not feel comfortable attending a church with rocks in the sink. Jesus was born in a stable not a palace for a reason. To be broken for those that are bound by various sins and the despair that it causes them and their loved ones. To be broken by what sickness & disease does to people. To be broken for the marriages that are not surviving in our nation & the children that are left to pick up the pieces. To be broken over the ungodly messages we are constantly bombarded and saturated with through various forms of the media. To be broken over the depth of corruption in D.C. by both parties. Our nation is in deep trouble morally and more than class we desperately need Jesus & the Holy Spirit & we need to be broken. Jesus said in Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." And we are to go into all nations and do the same and we will when we are broken.
