I know that depression is real.... it is not just something made up by sad people. It is as real as its opposite, joy. Robin Williams death has brought up a very serious topic. While Im aware of the power and deliverance Jesus can and will bring, I am also aware that thoughts associated with depression are debilitating and deceiving. A Matt Walsh blog article is floating around, being disagreed with by many. It made me think... While suicide is in fact, by definition, a choice, the thoughts, the despair, the unequivocal, profound sadness paired with depression... Its not something easily dealt with. Jesus is joy and love, He is goodness and grace. Of course satan is the direct opposite. He has come to kill, steal, and destroy. He is the master of deception and torment. Anyone is susceptible without knowledge of the deliverance Jesus can bring. Unless you personally have dealt with depression, deep, gut-wrenching depression, I encourage you to be sensitive. I encourage to remember that a mind is delicate thing and we are all human. Do not pass judgement on something you know nothing about. Rest in peace, Mr. Williams.
