I know that everyone has their opinions on how the government and school systems handled yesterdays events. In the past few weeks, I heard how stupid it was for schools to close just because it was too cold. The school systems stated that the buses couldnt handle the cold weather and their heating systems at school may not be able to keep the children warm. As you know, several schools and business had pipes bust. Mine froze at my house and some people lost electricity. What would you have said then when your kids were stranded on buses or they were freezing when the schools heat went out? Really! No win situation for anyone. No matter what decisions schools or the government do, someone will be mad. I heard the predictions and warnings just like everyone else. I went to work. Was able to leave early. Stayed in traffic several hours. I knew when I left for work this might happen but I made a decision to take the chance. My family made it home safely and I am more than thankful. We are all responsible for our own actions and our families well being. Quit blaming others. Sick of hearing how this should of been handled. You arent in their position so you dont know how you would handle the situation. No one can truly predict the outcome of the weather. Stay off the roads like that asked so they can fix the roads. Look at the blessings. Students were safe because of teachers, staff and volunteers. Stranded vehicles are being offered help too! Sorry! Sick of hearing whose is at fault.
