I know the next month will be very busy for most of us, but I wanted to take a moment to give you some updates as we head into Trimester 2! I will put a big, bold heading at the top of each section. Skim through to see which ones pertain to you. HOLIDAY CHOIR CONCERT - DECEMBER 13 - 7pm This concert event is always a highlight of the year for our choir students and families. The theme this year is Celebrate the Season, and it will include music that allows us to be joyful about, and grateful, for the people who surround us with love during this time of year. This year we are adding more instrumentalists than usual to feature some of our awesome band and orchestra students. Crimson Chorale will be doing some impressive choreography, too! I hope that many friends and extended family members will be able to attend. As we did last year, I will record the concert and make copies available to students/families for a small donation. I do my best to schedule these concerts on a night when few other events are taking place at MGSH, but I understand that there will be conflicts that arise (especially when things are added to the calendar after I make my concert schedule back in May). If you know that you have a conflict with an athletic event or another MGSH activity that day, it is my expectation that you will do your best to be in both places. For example, if you compete early in an event, you should find a way to make it back to the high school in time for the concert rather than waiting around for another team to compete or awards to be announced. We have one concert during which to show off your hard work, and I believe that is is important for you to be there. Please contact me ASAP about any conflicts that take place that day so that we can determine other arrangements ahead of time. As always, being scheduled to work is not an excused absence. You have known about this concert since the first day of school, which allows you plenty of time to alter your work schedule. Thank you! FUNDRAISERS - Volunteers & New Opportunities 1. Schwans Information packets were made available to the students on November 17, but very few have been taken from their place on the piano! I have uploaded the documents to the fundraising page on the website A message from the Music Boosters: The information on the Schwans fundraiser stated that the students must set up their fundraising page by Friday Nov. 21st. However, you can now join the fundraising at any time. Of course, the sooner you get started inviting customers the more they can earn as customers can order multiple times between now and January 1, 2015. Also, eCertificates make great holiday gifts and earn them the best return. 3. Cub Foods - December 23rd I will post a (first come, first served) sign-up sheet for volunteers to bag groceries & sing carols at Cub Foods on Dec. 23rd. We will collect tip money, which will be equally divided among the volunteers. This is always a lot of fun!
