I know your works, your labor, your patience and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not and found them liars and you have persevered and have patience and have labored for my name sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless, I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lamp stand from its place unless you repent. He who has an ear let him hear what the spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life which is in the paradise of God. COMMENTARY: So the prophet, having come to the knowledge of the truth of the spirit through enduring all things to acquire the namesake of God admonishes, corrects and instructs men who call upon the name of God to righteousness and informs them not to grow weary on THE WAY TO KNOWLEDGE OF TRUTH WHICH IS NOT A HARD WAY BUT A NARROW WAY. In time with God which refers to the seasons of God in which a man is chastised it is written; GOD WILL NEVER GIVE YOU MORE THAN YOU CAN STAND UP UNDER AND SHOULD TEMPTATION COME TO DOUBT THE WAYS OF GOD, HE WILL ALWAYS SHOW YOU A WAY OUT. Chastisement and correction are two sides of the same coin. Chastising prevents a man from continuing in pursuing evil things which are the things of the world and will profit him nothing. To be chastised is to point out those things which are permissible to do, even though they are wrong, but not beneficial. Correction is for guiding people to do right in order to come to righteousness. To repent is turn away from the knowledge one reasons in for it is of the world and leads you to the consequences or riches of the world and not to righteousness from God. My Dear Readers, those who of you who have searched in your churches for apostles and prophets of God and found nothing but empty words which do not become flesh. Do not be discouraged for the promise of God is that He will complete the work He has begun in you if you simply wait with humility and persevere with those who think more of themselves than they should both in the world and those who speak in the name of God as if God could do nothing without them. GOD DOES NOT HATE WHICH MEANS TO AVOID THOSE WHO HAVE COME TO A BROKEN HEART AND CONTRITE MIND. IT IS THESE HE LOVES AND GIVES THEM TO KNOW HIS DEEP MYSTERIOUS JUDGMENTS AND SEASONS.
