I lay here this morning trying to process yesterdays Drs - TopicsExpress

I lay here this morning trying to process yesterdays Drs appointment for Poppa (LarryMarion Sullivan Grace Evans). It was the day to go over the results from the follow up CT scan to monitor any changes in the tumors within the core of his body. While we tried to brace ourselves for any outcome, Im not sure any of us were prepared for what we heard. While the CT scans did not show major growth, there was definitely growth within the lungs as well as in the kidney. Thankfully there was no notable change to the adrenal glands. But the part that I think threw all of us was to learn that there was a new area discovered in the liver. Its small, about 1.3 cm, but just its very presence took the wind out of our sails. These changes indicate that time is of essence to begin chemo treatment instead of removing the kidney. So, Poppa will begin treatment today to preserve his present quality of life. After receiving this devastating news, I attempted to return to work to try to accomplish necessary tasks while Robert accompanied Mom and Poppa back home. Hours later my phone rang and it was Mom. I could tell her voice sounded emotional and I was concerned. But she quickly put my fears to rest when she began to tell me of their afternoon. As they returned home and realities began to settle in, instead of falling to the depths of despair, they fell to their knees and took their troubled hearts to the Master. HE knows the way we take, and He once again proved Himself faithful as He met them in their hour if need. I lay here this morning reveling in my blessings. Yes, my blessings. I am blessed to have been raised by a family that knows where to go when the storms of life prevail. We know who to talk to when only our heart can speak. That, my friend, is a blessing. Im reminded of the passage in Proverbs 3:5&6: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Thats what we are doing today. We are trusting in Him. I thank each of you for your continued prayers, and I continue to covet them as we embark on this new aspect of our journey.
