I learned something interesting yesterday thanks to Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. The first solar powered generator was presented in 1878 in Paris by Augustin Mouchot at the Universal Exhibition. If you have not watched the show, you really should give it a shot. Its very educational and entertaining. It has actually helped me understand the things that I had problems with when I took physics and chemistry as the show presents the material in a very easy to understand format. The visuals are what I found most helpful to me. They use computer graphics to shrink you down to molecular levels and such. We have it on Hulu Plus, if you dont have access to it.
