I like the AAP for starting on the anti corruption plank. But - TopicsExpress

I like the AAP for starting on the anti corruption plank. But curtail and or eliminate corruption , there has to be a holistic approach. In the early 1900s till the depression and later prohibition in the US, corruption was a big issue with everyone involved in it from the cops to politicians and organized crime as feeders. Corruption in low places started coming down in the US with improved economic prosperity, increased literacy etcetera better benefits ,etc. there are several reasons for this but one of the most important is economic revival and resurgence leading to the US becoming the largest consumption and export driven economy in the world. In this context it is a little incongruent that AAP talks about eliminating corruption without a corresponding framework, economically and socially, that to me is the biggest reason to doubt their intentions and question them closely on their credentials and thoughts in this regard. The other major aspect is governance. Without good and acceptable governance corruption cannot be eliminated and in that AAP has failed miserably. Without an understanding of both these aspects nothing can be achieved in this country.
