I like to read other peoples success stories, so wanted to share one of my own. I located my 3x great grandfathers grave marker via FAG a long time ago, but only this week did I attempt to contact the person who posted the memorial. I wrote to her and thanked her for her contributions and then asked her a couple of questions. She wrote back the very next day!! Turns out she is the secretary for that cemetery so she had access to records. Her information contradicted my information and she very politely explained what she had in her records. After reviewing my records, I realized that she was referring to my 3x great grandfathers grandson, who shared the same name as my 3x great grandfather. We emailed back and forth until we got it all figured out. Turns out there were 2 sets of plots, both containing 5 people, both with James D. Henry buried in one of the plots. One the grandfather, one the grandson. As we went through the family history, she gave me several names that I could add to my tree, including discovering that my 3x cousin 1x removed is married to her cousin!! She also had a copy of the grandsons obituary (my 1st cousin 3x removed). She was so helpful! I am hoping to connect with the mutual cousins we share. WHOOT!!
