I listened to all 42mins of Sh. Adnanis speech released today in the original Arabic and Ill surmise by saying that the valid points he made about western aggression become redundant by what he suggests of indiscriminate violence, backed by a reading of the deen that leaves you thinking: is the objective to send the kuffar to hell or to do your best to save them therefrom? ISIS is calling for mass chaos and violence, anywhere and everywhere. Its wrong, its nutty and most importantly it contravenes the Islamic position and the example of the Prophet (saw). It should fall on deaf ears. Yes, the west has aggressed beyond what words can express and is responsible for injustice and violence that groups like ISIS could not do even if they wanted...but our deen guides us on how we must respond and its not what ISIS is suggesting. A reading of the deen that applies important pillars such as Jihad, establishment of Shariah and Khilafah in a way that negates their very purpose is as bad as one that negates them altogether in relegating the deen to the personal, spiritual realm alone. May Allah guide us, in these ever difficult times, to what is most pleasing to Him.
