I listened to my friend Jeff Manion preach through a series entitled Critical Conversations. The Final Words of Jesus. Today he spoke of Lifes Free Falls and the time of the Last Supper. The diisciples were in a life cycle of Free Fall. Jesus was once again explaining what was about to take place. Within 15 to 19 hours he would be a corspe hanging in humility on a Roman Cross. He spoke with unmatched love to Let not your heart be troubled, if you believe in God believe also in me. Jesus spoke of the place where he is going and the job he was going to accomplish. He was going to reunite us with the God of the Universe in a dwelling place. Genesis talks about God dwelling with man but was forced to leave because of mans sin. John 14 talks about the reuinon of God and man through Christ in a future dwelling place. And then there is the great promise given to us through the vision of John in Revelation 21: 3-4. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Jeff spoke about his new born grandson and how much passion he has for him. He absolutely cannot wait for the next time to see him. He said he would give up anything and everything for this child. This my friend is the passion that Christ has in anticipation of us dwelling with him. He cant wait to see you! He has given everything to prepare a place for you to dwell in perfect harmony with all. You see........Eternity will not be the same without........you. Jesus is our only hope for this life and the next. Do you know Him?
